SMALL BUSINESS IN AMERICA
Great American Franchise Expo is going on a national tour! With Georgia being the number one state in the US to conduct business, it only made sense that they stopped in Atlanta as the second city of the eight they’ll visit during 2018. The beautiful and hospitable Cobb Galleria hosted the weekend-long affair, and we had the opportunity to film a recap video of Saturday’s ribbon cutting and events, so prospective exhibitors in other American cities could learn more!
As small business owners ourselves, it was so rewarding to meet so many people from all over America who are eager to take their businesses to the next level in the form of selling franchises to other eager entrepreneurs! Attendees were able to speak with a variety of businesses across many different industries/sectors, as well as sit-in on educational seminars by established and successful franchisors. From fitness to lice treatment, potential owners got a good taste of the many exciting venture possibilities available to them.
DRUMMING UP BUSINESS
Bobby DelVecchio, a former drummer for Hall and Oates, The American Bandstand, and other musical groups, was so gracious to share some of his story and entrepreneurial passion with us! A franchise consultant himself, he’s basically been drumming up business his whole life. He has an organization called Beating the Odds that arms children with drumsticks so when they go to the hospital for their treatments, they’re ready to beat the difficult road ahead! Hearing about this kind of philanthropy and good works meant so much to us, and there really is no shortage of positive inspiration in the world if we seek it.
LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS, NATIONAL DREAMS
Another business owner we truly enjoyed conversing with was Len Strozier of Omega Mapping Services. A Georgia-native, Len’s GPS, ground penetrating radar, and map production business has done super well with The Great American Franchise Expo. At the first show in Boston, Len had several prospective franchisees who he is continuing the conversation with a month later. His home state was promising as well--he was also approached by many interested parties here at the Atlanta show, even before the doors officially opened. Also, Omega Mapping Services may have had our favorite slogan of the event: “If it’s there, we’ll find it!” Simple, effective, amusing.
The variety of fascinating opportunities for Atlanta residents and beyond was wonderful to behold. The American Dream is alive and well here in Georgia, and as our state continues to grow and attract more and more new people to live here and invest in/launch companies, the future economic growth looks ever brighter!! We praise God for the desire of every citizen, not just here in Georgia, but across the United States, to lift up their fellow countrymen and create more wealth for us all.
